Hello World!
My name is Rumi, and I am a creative problem solver at the intersection of design, technology, and entrepreneurship. Currently, I study Computer Science, Comparative Media, and Business Analytics at MIT. I have collaborated on research projects with the MIT Media Lab and Digital Humanities Lab where I helped create tangible media installations and digital sonification tools. Over the summer, I worked as a Mechanical Engineering Tutor for the Women's Technology Program where I mentored female high school students and helped them gain exposure to engineering concepts/projects.
Outside of academics, I like to discover new cafes to search for the best strawberry pastry and cold brew coffee in Boston (no Dunkin for me). I love to travel with my friends and do cool activities such as stargazing at Cape Cod, horseback riding in Georgia, tulip picking in Rhode Island - the list goes on. Recently, I joined a DJ Techniques class at MIT, so shoot me message to share your favorite song/playlist because it may end up being featured at the end-of-semester DJ event ;)
Feel free to explore my corner of the web to see what I have been up to!
