  • Meta SWE Internship

    Software Engineering Intern
    • Worked on product infra development for the Instagram Well-Being Signals and Insights Platform team.

    • Focused on backend and frontend development and utilized HTML, Hack, Javascript, and Python languages.

    • Created an internal system that organized and queried integrity information meant to help better the Instagram user experience by looking out for the well-being of users through machine learning models.

    • Built persistent storage for the system and designed an internal onboarding UI platform to facilitate its use.

    • Created scripts that generated code and version control submissions to incorporate into the onboarding UI.

  • Facebook University

    Intern
    • Worked on Android mobile application development, utilizing Java and Android Studio.

    • Recreated Twitter, Instagram, and Flixster mobile applications using respective APIs.

    • Created an original app: Moodify, using Spotify’s API, where users could track their moods based on their song history.

    • Created an algorithm to assign a song’s mood based on the song’s audio features.

    • Implemented personalized playlists divided by moods, and created a user’s profile based on their mood percentages.

    • Created application database using Parse, so users could share moods with others, and designed application UX and UI.

  • MIT Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory

    Undergraduate Researcher (UROP)
    • Worked on project Murmur, a mailing-list system for email accounts.

    • Collaborated on the development of the Python backend to optimize the server, also using HTML and JavaScript.

    • Redesigned the implementation of the DataTables library used in Murmur’s public group page by implementing server-side pagination with Ajax-sourced data, so group data loads as it is called.

    • Created mock-up design for a new, mailing-list moderator interphase. Worked on the creation of said interphase in order to implement email flow management.

  • V2A Consulting: WeServe Fellowship

    Fellow
    • Helped the Coro de Niños de San Juan, a local nonprofit, develop their alumni engagement strategies.

    • Reorganized the organization’s database containing 20,000 contacts, and extracted the 4,000 alumni contacts.

    • Used Excel and the openpyxl Python library to create an alumni database with the extracted information.

    • Created an electronic survey to reach out to alumni and collect additional information, including current addresses, updated contact information, etc., and updated new alumni database accordingly.

  • Google Software Product Sprint Spring 2021

    Participant
    • Collaborated with a team of peers to design and implement a college road-map web application using Java, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Incoorporated the App Engine and Datastore Google Cloud Platform APIs.

    • Focused on front-end development, and built a “resources” page including resume tips and coding practice.

    • Built a Portfolio website through the implementation of Java servlets and the Google Translate Java library.

    • Gained experience on industry practices such as open source software contribution (Git and Github), code reviews, distributed development, and designing new components and interfaces.
